Bangladesh Association New Zealand Incorporated is stepped into its 30 years on 2nd May 2021. 30 years ago some dedicated Bangladeshis who love their country and culture of origin took an initiative to establish an organisation for their own community people who are living in New Zealand. BANZI is the result of that initiative and it took its legal entity on this day. The organisation celebrates this day as ‘BANZI Day’. The EC have a plan to observe this special day with a grand program but the date itself was in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan. So EC has decided, the day will be celebrated a little later from the date. This celebration was decided to take place on 10 July 2021 at Raye Freedman Arts Centre, Epsom. This date had to change due to Covid-19 restriction to 3 October 2021. Unfortunately this date also had to amended again for the same reason. The new date for this celebration has now set on 28 November 2021 at Avondale College Auditorium. The local artists of BANZI will be participated to celebrate this special day with numerous distinguish guest form New Zealand Government and other community members in Auckland. During the programme the history of these 30 years of BANZI will be presented. Details of the programme will be in the Event section very soon.

About Bangladesh

The culture of Bangladesh refers to the way of life of the people of Bangladesh. The land, the rivers, and the lives of the Bengali people formed a rich heritage with marked differences from neighbouring regions. It has evolved over the centuries and encompasses the cultural diversity of several social groups of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is blessed with deep, rich and fertile soil, a gift from the three major rivers that form the deltaic plain upon which it sits. The Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna Rivers all wend their way down from the Himalayas, carrying nutrients to replenish Bangladesh’s fields.
